    The Ph.D. Programme has been initiated in the year 2016 with recognition of the department as Research Centre by Bangalore University with 3 students pursuing their doctoral degree. The rules and regulations are as per Bangalore University, Bengaluru.

  • Ph.D. from Bangalore City University
    The Ph.D. Programme has been continued from the year 2020 with the renewal of recognition of the department as Research Centre by Bangalore City University with 5 students pursuing their doctoral degree. The rules and regulations are according as Bangalore City University, Bengaluru.


Doctoral Research work

  • The Department of Mathematics is recognised as research centre by Bangalore University and later is renewed by Bangalore City University.

    There are 3 students presently working under Bangalore University and 5 students working under Bangalore city University.

    The rules and regulations are according to the corresponding universities.

    There are ample of research paper presentations and publications by the Doctoral students in the conferences and journals of international repute respectively.

Research by UG students

  • UG students are encouraged to take up mini projects on the extended syllabi of UG level, nurtured by the best of teachers.

    These students are motivated to present and publish the same in the symposiums and conferences either organised by the host university or other universities.



Research by PG students


  • The fourth semester Postgraduate students are exposed to compulsory research projects. Wherein the students have to choose a topic of their interest in pure mathematics or interdisciplinary mathematics.
  • To start with they should do the literature survey on the topic and later they are intended to discover or invent something new on the topic.
  • This process will be carried out under the supervision of a guide (internal or external guide) chosen by the students.
  • At the end of the project, the workdone should be consolidated and written in the form of a thesis and submitted for evaluation, which will be a partial fulfilment for the completion of the MSc Course.
  • The topics chosen for the projects should be worth publication either in the proceedings of the conferences or the national or international journals.
