History of NCC


  • The National Cadets Corps came into existence under the National Cadet Corps Act XXXI of 1948 (passed in April, 1948; came into existence on 16th July, 1948). The National Cadet Corps is the youth wing of Armed Forces with its headquarters at New Delhi, Delhi, India. National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organisation, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Wing, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. NCC Army wing is open for male and female students which is under 2/2 Company of 2 Karnataka Battalion NCC at Government Science College traces back to the year 1976 with its first ever Associate NCC officer Lt.Shah G Hussain. He retired as a major after serving for 3 decades in 2/2 COY in the year 2005. The company was led by Lt. H.C Ramanna from the year 2006 to 2014. Currently the 2/2 company is proudly led by Lt. Dr. Roy U.B. who took over the charge in the year 2015. NCC at Nrupathunga University emphasizes on imparting qualities like Leadership, Discipline, Integration, Adventure, Military, physical and community development. NCC is the organisation to install the values of "Unity and Discipline" which is the motto of NCC.
